Ages 13 and up · 45-minute classes
Teens & Adults.
Taekwondo for ages thirteen and up — forms, self-defence and sparring. No experience needed.
Teens & Adults is a full taekwondo program for anyone thirteen and over — not a fitness class with kicking in it. Beginners and experienced students train in the same room, so you can start with no previous experience.
What a class involves
Training covers forms, self-defence and sparring. Forms are the set patterns of traditional taekwondo. Self-defence is taught as practical technique. Sparring in a regular class is controlled and instructor-led.
Starting from nothing
You don’t need to arrive fit, flexible or young. Because everyone trains in the same room, a beginner works at a beginner’s pace alongside people who have trained for years, and nobody is expected to keep up with anyone else. Fitness and flexibility are what the training builds, not what it asks for.
Why adults take it up
Fitness, flexibility, self-defence, self-discipline — or just something that isn’t a team sport. You train to your own standard rather than for a place on a roster, and you progress through belts rather than seasons.
Training with your family
Parents and children can train together in Family Taekwondo on Saturday mornings.
